Homemade Brownie Mix Without Cocoa Powder
If you’re out of cocoa powder or want a different flavor profile, this brownie mix uses melted chocolate instead. The result is rich, fudgy brownies with deep chocolate flavor.
Ingredients for Brownie Mix
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (to be melted when preparing brownies)
Instructions to Make the Mix.
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
2. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months.
To Make Brownies Using the Mix:
Ingredients for 1 Batch (Makes an 8x8-inch pan):
2 cups of the brownie mix
½ cup melted chocolate (use the chocolate from the mix)
½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan.
2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, then stir in the melted butter.
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the chocolate-butter mixture and stir until combined.
4. Gradually add the dry brownie mix and mix until smooth.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
6. Let cool before slicing and serving.
This brownie mix creates deliciously rich brownies without cocoa powder.
