Here’s a simple homemade pudding mix recipe without cornstarch. Instead, it uses flour as the thickening agent
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered milk (or substitute with non-dairy milk powder for a dairy-free option)
Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder or seeds from 1 vanilla bean for added flavor
Instructions:
1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, salt, and powdered milk until well combined. Add vanilla bean powder if using.
2. Store: Transfer the mix to an airtight container or jar. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
1. Ingredients for 1 Batch:
½ cup of the pudding mix
2 cups milk (or your preferred milk alternative)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if vanilla isn’t already in the mix)
In a medium saucepan, whisk the mix into the milk until smooth.
Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract if needed, and let cool slightly before serving.
This mix is versatile and can be flavored with cocoa powder, instant coffee, or spices like cinnamon.
